Taiz witnesses violent clashes between Islah militias, gunmen

TAIZ, Oct. 9 (YPA) – Fierce clashes erupted on Wednesday afternoon between Islah Party militias and gunmen in al-Arba’een area in the center of Taiz province in the west of the country.

The clashes broke out between Islah militias and armed groups in the 170th air defense brigade led by Khattab al-Yasiri in Arba’een area, sources told Yemen Press Agency.

This came against backdrop of al-Yasiri’s refusal of Islah militias in security uniforms to carry out a mission in the area, which led to the outbreak of differences between the parties and then turned into clashes.

The clashes are still going on, causing horror and fear among the citizens, according to the sources.
