Preventing oil derivatives access will lead to disaster: Water Minister
SANAA, Oct. 6 (YPA) – Minister of Water and Environment Nabil al-Wazir has warned of a disastrous impact on the water and sanitation sector due to the continuation of Saudi-led aggression coalition in holding oil derivatives ships and preventing them from entering Hodeidah port.
“The prevention of oil derivatives access, including fuel diesel will lead to a humanitarian and environmental disaster as a result of the suspension of water pumping and operating the sewage stations in the provinces,” said al-Wazir in a statement on Saturday.
The minister called on the United Nations and international organizations to play their role and act swiftly to avoid a humanitarian and environmental catastrophe at the same time, especially with the spread of diseases and epidemics, particularly the cholera epidemic, which efforts are still under way to combat it.
