Hadi’s govt concludes secret deal to sell assets of Aden Refineries

ADEN, Oct. 3 (YPA) – Hadi’s government has concluded a secret deal with Aden Refineries Company to sell the latter’s assets, Well-informed sources reported on Thursday.

“The company and Hadi’s government intend to sell the refinery’s ships, arguing that they are damaged and inoperable, and that their survival will disrupt the waterway in Aden,” the sources said.

At the same time, the sources confirmed that those vessels need only maintenance and would return to work.

The number of vessels belonging to the company that the Hadi government intends to sell is estimated to be four, namely Al-Messila, Bab El-Mandab, Canal, Rediff Canal, in addition to two others “Tijan Al-Koud” and “Al-Ghadeer.”

The Aden Refineries Company classifies the vessels as out of service, and they were put up for sale in a tender in 2015, under the supervision of a committee of Hadi government, but the sale stopped due to the war, and since then the ships have not undergone any maintenance.
