ADEN, Sept. 30 (YPA) – A whole family, including women and children, were abducted after their home was broken into by UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council militias in the southern Yemeni port city of Aden, local sources reported on Monday.
A leading social figure in al-Bariqa district, Sheikh Mahdi al-Aqrabi, condemned the kidnapping of the family of Ammar Hussein al-Aqrabi.
The statement did not detail the number of abducted family members whom have disappeared after the storming of their house in Bir Ahmed by armed elements belonging to UAE-backed militias.
Al-Aqrabi pointed out that the attack came in the context of a campaign of raids on the homes of citizens in the area, and that the abduction of his family followed a personal dispute over the ownership of another residential property.
Incursions and kidnappings by separatist militias are commonplace since they took control of Aden in early August
