WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 (YPA) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford has acknowledged the inability of the US air defense “Patriot” system in Saudi Arabia to repel attacks on Aramco facilities.
Dunford tried to justify that by saying “there is no air or missile defense system that could individually repel an attack similar to that of Aramco’s facilities in Saudi Arabia.”
This came in the US general’s remarks quoted by the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) during a joint press briefing with US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper.
A source in the Russian Defense Ministry said earlier that American-made air defense systems have not been able to repel the air attack on Saudi Aramco facilities, because” their actual specifications do not actually match the declared characteristics.”
