BERLIN, Sept. 9 (YPA) – International Greenpeace on Monday called on the German government to extend the ban on the export of arms to Saudi Arabia because of the war on Yemen.
“The government should continue to ban arms exports to Saudi Arabia because of its role in the war on Yemen,” said Alexander Lorz, a disarmament expert at the Berlin-based organization.
Lorz called on the German government to stop arms sales to all countries involved in the war that killed 91 thousand civilians, according to the organization.
The organization’s activists submitted a petition carrying signatures of more than 10,000 people to the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy to demand an extension of the ban, which ends the end of September.
