Earthquake kills, injures 30 in southwest China

SANAA, Sept. 8 (YPA) – A person was killed and at least 29 others injured on Sunday morning due to a 5.4-magnitude earthquake in southwest China’s Wuyuan Province.

According to Xinhua agency,  Chinese Emergency Management Office in the city of “Neijiang” said that among the injured who were taken to hospital two cases in danger.

The quake collapsed at least 17 houses and about 215 others were affected, the emergency department said.

The epicenter of the quake, at a depth of 10 km, was detected at 29.55 degrees north latitude and 104.79 degrees east longitude, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
