SANAA, Sept. 2 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi on Monday discussed with Head of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) Office in Yemen the humanitarian and economic situations in light of the continued aggression and economic blockade.
At the meeting, al-Ezzi pointed out that the Saudi/UAE-led aggression coalition continued for the fifth year in row to commit crimes against humanity, most recently the bombing of prisoners’ center in Dhamar province, killing and injuring more than 100 people.
He affirmed that this center is well-known to the aggression countries and humanitarian organizations, and the ICRC delegation had already visited it several times in the framework of coordination for an exchange of prisoners.
For his part, the ECHO official confirmed the Office’s keenness to strengthen cooperation and coordination with the national authorities in Sanaa to participate in the implementation of the humanitarian response plan for 2019 to alleviate the human suffering of the Yemeni people. He noted that the Office had doubled the volume of humanitarian assistance to Yemen.
