Secretary General of Lahj province injured in assassination attempt

ADEN, Aug. 31 (YPA) – Awad al-Salahi, the secretary general of Lahj Province loyal to the United Arab Emirates occupation forces was injured in assassination attempt in the Southerner city of Aden on Friday, local sources close to UAE-backed STC militias (Security Belt forces) reported.

According to the sources, Al-Salahi was shot by terrorist groups who tried to target the security forces in Aden, while he was inside his residence on the al-Safena tour in Dar Saad district.

According to the source, Al-Salahi was taken to hospital to receive treatment.

Other sources said that gunmen loyal to the exiled Hadi’s forces raided al-Salahi’s house in Dar Saad district and clashed with his militants, lead to his injury.

This marks a new wave of assassination operations has begun targeting security belt forces and separatist leaders in the southern port city of Aden as conflict between Saudi Araiba and the United Arab Emirates escalated in Yemen’s south.
