ABYAN, Aug. 27 (YPA) – Al-Qaeda militants on late Monday blew up a security headquarters belonging to the UAE-backed militias (security belt forces) in Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
According to the sources, Al-Qaeda operatives blew up the “headquarters” of the security belt forces checking point in the Al-Quoz Junction east of Mudiya district.
Local sources said al-Qaeda militants after they have blown up the checking point’s room of the UAE-backed militias,they burned down the tent.
The sources pointed out that the bombing came one day after the departure of the members of the checking point and their withdrawal from it after differences between them and the sector commander in the province escalated.
