Foreign Minister calls UN Secretary-General to reopen Sanaa airport

SANAA, Aug. 8 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Thursday called on the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to intensify efforts to reopen Sanaa International Airport as soon as possible.

In a letter written to Guterres, the minister affirmed that the Saudi-led coalition’s ongoing blockade on land, sea and air ports is the collective punishment and violations against the Yemeni people under the excuses and false justifications.
Sharaf stressed the importance of reopening the airport to restore confidence in the international community’s desire to resume a comprehensive political settlement and achieve peace in Yemen.
