SHABWA, April 14 (YPA) – The oil pumping operation in Shabwa province, southeast of Yemen, stopped on Saturday.
Unidentified gunmen attacked the oil pipeline passing from al-Bayad area, which transfers the oil from Uqla field to Ayath area of Jardan district and then heads to Noshayma oil port of Radhom district, northeast of Ataq city, according to local sources.
Sources said that the rising smoke east of Ataq district caused by an oil leakage in the pipeline and that the leakage was contained.
Militias of Islah Party (Muslim Brotherhood) and al-Qaeda have become active in Shabwa province, after it was controlled by the United Arab Emirates-funded security belt forces.
