Mercenary infighting leaves two dead, four wounded in Taiz

TAIZ, July 15 (YPA) – At least two gunmen were killed and four others wounded, three of them members of the pro-coalition security committee, in clashes broke out in Taiz province, southwest Yemen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the local sources, the so-called security committee loyal to the Saudi-led coalition affiliated with the Islah party in Taiz sent a second military campaign against elements of the so-called “Abu Abbas” brigades supported by the United Arab Emirates, in the area of Al-Barara after storming a police station.

The sources pointed out that Khaled al-Rimi, one of Abu Abbas’s leaders, ambushed the military campaign in the area of al-Barara, followed by clashes leaving Hassan al-Rimi brother of Khaled al-Rimi dead and two other wounded.
” One soldier was killed and two others were injured from pro-Islah party militias,” one of the sources said

Earlier, gunmen attacked Police Station of al-Barara, and it is believed Abu al-Abbas gunmen behind the attack. They also had taken control of the station and arrested several soldiers and police officers.

According to the sources, the Security Committee of the Islah Party in Taiz city plans to send large military reinforcements to restore the police station and arrest those who are outlawed.
