SANAA, July 4 (YPA) –The Shura Council on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Political Council’s initiative to open an account at the Central Bank’s branch in Hodeidah province to deposit revenues of the province ports in order to pay salaries of the state employees.
“This initiative is added to the executive procedures carried out by the national negotiating team within Stockholm Agreement and the unilateral redeployment from Hodeidah ports under the supervision of the UN observe team,” the Shura Council said in a statement.
The statement noted that the initiative confirms the serious commitment to the agreed understandings on the economic file during Sweden consultations, and the political leadership’s keenness on alleviating the suffering of the state employees, whose salaries have been interrupted since mid-2016 due to the decision to transfer the Central Bank to Aden, at the behest of the aggression coalition.
In its statement, the Shura Council called for neutralizing public services and salaries from the conflict and for working on achieving the national reconciliation.
