Mahra sit-in committee renews demands for expelling Saudi forces

MAHRA, June 6 (YPA) – The organizing committee for people sit-in in Mahra province, eastern Yemen, on Thursday reiterated its demands for the withdrawal of Saudi forces, handing over of land and sea ports, and reopening of al-Ghaidha Airport to civil flights.

In a statement it issued on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the organizing committee condemned the Saudi actions which it described as “aggressive and provocative” violating the Yemeni sovereignty in Mahra by showing off the unjustified force against the people of the province.

The committee stressed on its demand for the dismissal of the governor “Rajeh Bakrat”, appointed by Hadi’s government, and bringing him to trial for killing the peacefully protesters in Al-Anfaq incident and for his involvement in issues of corruption and looting the public treasury.
