FM mocks allegations of Saudi Permanent Representative to UN

SANAA, May 24 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Thursday ridiculed the allegations contained in the letter of Saudi Permanent Representative to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council stating that Riyadh seeks to maintain peace and security in the region.

“Saudi Arabia in fact commits war crimes against Yemenis and leads a proxy war for the benefit of America and Zionist entity’” Sharaf said in a statement.

The foreign minister called on the Saudi regime to review the situation of schizophrenia and its contradictions in trying to emerge as a country seeking peace and keen on good neighborliness.

“This regime calls on the Security Council to put pressure on Tehran not to threaten the security and stability of the region and its peoples, ignoring that Riyadh is the one who has been waging a five-year military aggression and imposing a total siege on the Republic of Yemen,” he said.
