SANAA, May 11 (YPA) – Oman rejects military operations against Yemen and believes the war there “does not serve any party” and is “devastating for the Yemeni people,” Hunaina Al-Mughairy, Oman’s ambassador to the United States said.
“The best way to settle the conflict between Yemenis is through international negotiations,” Hunaina Al-Mughairy said in an exclusive interview with Al-Monitor at the Omani Embassy in Washington
The Yemeni people are the only victims of this devastating war, which has not yet ended and has resulted in many human tragedies, she added.
“The Sultanate of Oman supports the efforts of the UN special envoy to Yemen, expressing the hope that a solution to the crisis will soon be reached,” the ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United States added.
She denounced the diplomatic crisis between Qatar and other GCC countries (except Oman and Kuwait) which broke out in 2017, saying it was “very unfortunate” and undermining the progress made by the regional bloc.
She said that “Oman is doing its efforts with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Kuwait, especially to find a solution to the crisis soon and stop the war on Yemen.”
The move came in the light of the objection of the state of Oman to the aggression waged by the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen since March 2015 until the moment, which the aggression countries have failed to achieve any of their objectives, however, they show their real projects and ambitions of further expansion in Yemen
