5,8 magnitude earthquake hits east coast of Japan
SANAA, May 5 (YPA) – The US Geological Survey announced on Sunday that a 5.8-magnitude earthquake occurred off the east coast of Japan.
According to Reuters, “said the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 59 kilometers in the sea off the coastal city of Nimoro in the far eastern end of the island of Hokkaido in the north.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center or Japan Meteorological Agency did not issue tsunami warnings after the earthquake.
