Sanaa authorities to launch governance program of civil society, private sector

 SANAA, May 2 (YPA) – The Yemeni government in Sanaa is expected to launch a package of measures according to the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state, including the governance program of civil society and private sector.

The program aims at enabling the civil society organizations to monitor and evaluate the practice of good governance principles by the state and government agencies.

The measures also include adopting a program for the private sector governance.

The national vision stressed the need to build a system of governance based on modern and democratic foundations, which adopts the principle of peaceful transfer of power and allows political, economic and social rights and freedoms and free and independent media that enhance citizen’s role in the development.

According to the vision, the governance system invests its own resources to promote integration and justice in the distribution of wealth and the development at the local and central levels, and the building of effective governance institutions that work for the citizen. 

The application of a good governance system that fights corruption, guarantees the rule of law, transparency, accountability and active community participation, and works to create the various factors necessary to ensure political and social stability in order to achieve an environment conducive to sustainable and inclusive development.
