UN condemns killing of civilians in coalition airstrikes on capital Sanaa

SANAA, April 8 (YPA) – The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen on Monday condemned the killing of 13 civilians and injuring 95 others, including schoolgirls and children, in Saudi-led airstrikes on Sa’wan residential area, east of the capital Sanaa.

UN humanitarian coordinator Lise Grande said, in a statement, that the cases she saw “were terrible”, and described the disaster as “tragic”, expressing here deep condolences to the victims’ families.

Sunday’s airstrikes by the coalition aircrafts on the densely populated area of Sa’wan left at least 13 dead and 95 wounded, mostly schoolgirls and passersby, and caused severe damage to houses and schools.
