Four hostages killed by unknown gunman in Mississippi

SANAA, Feb. 17 (YPA) – Four hostages were killed in the southern US state of Mississippi,  Fox 8 TV quoted police as reporting.

According to the Fox 8 TV, the perpetrator was arrested.

The incident took place in the city of  Clinton on Foxhill on Saturday, where an unknown gunman held several hostages in a residential building for about 12 hours, the channel added.

Local authorities reported that the hostages are members of one family, were at home at the time of the crime and the police were able to liberate the children of the family “a few hours before the crime was committed.”

Despite the arrest of the suspect, his motives have not yet been identified, but preliminary information indicates a disagreement between the neighbors, which preceded the crime.

The United States has been witnessing incidents of firearms being used by citizens, often resulting in deaths and injuries.

For years, attempts have been made to prevent the sale of firearms to citizens or to impose severe restrictions on their sale and circulation, but so far have yielded no tangible result.
