Army spokesman: Coalition wages 2 airstrikes, commits 138 violations of cease-fire in Hodeidah

 

SANAA, Dec. 29 (YPA) – Spokesman of the Yemen Army Brig. Gen. Yahya Sarea on Friday said that Saudi-led coalition and its militias waged two airstrikes and committed 183 violations of the cease-fire agreement in Hodeidah province during the past 24 hours.

In a statement, Sarea said that the coalition launched an air raids on the vicinity of Qubei village in Beit al-Faqih and the second raid waged by reconnaissance aircraft on the perimeter of Engineering College with intensive flying of warplanes, reconnaissance and Apache planes in the sky of Hodeidah.

He pointed out that 123 artillery shells, including four mortar shells, were fired from the south-west of Aqad area towards the east and north-east of Shikh village, three mortar shells from the south-west of Hanagar al-Hashidi towards Sabha, 20 artillery shells from Tuhaita toward east of it, and a mortar shell to the west of Shaab city, a mortar shell to the north-east of Handasa area,  and 22 shells fired from the south of Aqad to the village of Mahal al-Sheikh and west of Kilo 16, as well as artillery of the militias targeted the farms of the citizens south and east of Tuhaita district with 70 shells.

The spokesman pointed out that the militias fired a rocket from Ghirasi towards Sanaa and Al Waha Street.

He added that the militias fired various medium and light weapons toward several residential areas in the province.

Sarea pointed out that the sniper of coalition fired their bullets from 22 May to the west of the camp, from the hospital towards Khamsin  street and from the east of shabaab city to its buildings.

The spokesman confirmed that a bulldozer was installed in the desert east of Shabaab city around the farm and monitored the reinforcements and movements of the militias toward several areas in the province.

 

He added that coalition’s warplanes launched two raids on Hodeidah and 27 raids on others provinces, including nine raids off Najran, five raids on Malahidh, three raids on Saada, three on Harad, two raids on Khub-washaaf district of jawf and five raids on Nehm district of Sanaa province.

Brigadier Sarea confirmed that the army repulsed four attacks of the militias, one attack towards Nar mount in Haradh supported by heavy artillery and rocket fire, another attack towards Astar of Muhashmah in Jawf supported by air cover, the third attack towards Boqea in Saada and the fourth towards Gaza, Asida and Haidar hills in Nehm district, pointing out that the militias suffered losses of life and gear.
