Jamal Khashoggi killed in Saudi consulate in Istanbul: Riyadh says

SANAA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Preliminary findings into the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi showed his death, the Saudi public prosecutor said on Saturday.

The attorney general confirmed that the preliminary investigation into the case of the citizen “Jamal Khashoggi” showed his death, and 18 people were arrested in the case of his death and investigations are ongoing.

According to Saudi television, “a fistfight between Khashoggi and people who he met  in our consulate in Istanbul led to his death,” and  “investigations are continuing with those arrested in the case, and so far there are 18 persons, all of them Saudis.”

This came at a time when a royal order was issued to exempt the Chancellor of the Royal Diwan Saud al-Qahtani from his post, and Deputy intelligence chief Ahmed al-Asiri were fired from his post.
