President meets UN official, IRC head

SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – President Mahdi al-Mashat on Thursday met with the head of International Rescue Committee(IRC) David Miliband and the UN resident representative of  Humanitarian Coordinator to Yemen Lise Grande.

At the meeting, the president discussed with the international officials the worsening humanitarian situation caused by Saudi-led coalition war and its all-out blockade on Yemen.

Al-Mashat stressed on the necessity of the National Salvation Government’s keenness to provide all facilities for the humanitarian organizations working in Yemen.

David Miliband said that his visit to Yemen aiming at briefing IRC’s activities in Yemen and the humanitarian situation of the Yemeni people, especially in Hodeidah province.

Lise Grande addressed the deteriorating situation in Hodeidah due to the military escalation by coalition… stressing on that “Yemen is going through the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.”
