China asks WTO to impose sanctions on United States

SANAA, Sep. 11 (YPA) – China will ask the World Trade Organization (WTO) to allow it to impose sanctions on the United States over Washington’s failure to comply with a ruling on a dispute over US dumping charges after a Chinese complaint in 2013, the agenda showed on Tuesday.
The demand is expected to lead to a legal debate for years on the justification and magnitude of sanctions.
Last year, China won a ruling from the World Trade Organization (WTO) in a dispute involving several industries, including machinery, electronics, light industry and metals, with annual exports of $ 8.4 billion.
