18 killed in clashed between Syrian army and Kurdish in Qamishli

SANAA, Sep. 8 (YPA) – 18 fighters were killed on Saturday in clashed between the Syrian forces and Kurdish security forces “Asayish” in Qamishli city in the North-East of Syria, a Syrian security said.

“11 fighters for the military security staff were killed and 6 others belonging to the Qamishli airport security forces were injured during clashed with Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s (PKK) militiamen nearby a park in the center of Qamishli,” read the statement.

The two sides share controlling of Qamishli city.

“Asayish set up an ambush to the Syrian army’s patrols which are changing frequently theirs individuals.” the statement added.

” The PKK’s militiamen cut off the roads leading to the city and are gathering now around the security square,” it said

Asayish said in a statement that a patrol of the Syrian army consisting of three cars entered on Saturday morning theirs controlled areas in Qamishli, which lead to clashes.

The statment added that 11 soldiers of the Syrian army were killed, two other injured, while seven Kurd fighters were killed and one was injured.
