Southern Activist: Saudi Arabia implicated in Resolution 2216

SANAA, Aug. 27 (YPA) – The Yemeni southern activist, Ali al-Zamki, on Monday said that Riyadh had implicated itself in the international resolution No. 2216, and it can not now accept amending or ignore it.

“Riyadh had designed the UN Security Council resolution 2216, thinking that the Houthis (Ansaruallah) would surrender easily, but it implicated itself in this decision, which will make it responsible for all the massacres and destruction in Yemen,”the activist said on his Facebook page.

“Therefore the war may continue until the treasury of Riyadh announces bankruptcy,”he added.

Al-Zamki noted that the crisis was confined to“the legitimacy of Hadi”, which does not deserve all these massacres and devastation.

He affirmed that“the Houthis and the southerners are not parties to the Gulf initiative and have not signed it and have not been committed to it as a reference of the dialogue.”

The southern activist explained that the Resolution 2216 was designed by Riyadh and passed through the UN Security Council, which compelled it to the Gulf initiative as a reference to the dialogue, although it is free from both the southern issue and Saada issue.

“What Saudi Arabia called the military settlement and the return of the so-called legitimacy to Sanaa has become impossible,”al-Zamki said, adding that this resolution has posed a permanent obstacle before the UN envoys to reach a solution and peace in Yemen.
