UN Special Rapporteur’s report on starvation in Gaza calls for urgent intervention

GAZA, Sept. 07 (YPA) – Hamas movement affirmed on Saturday that the report issued by the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, Michael Fakhri, on starvation in the Gaza Strip, requires urgent intervention to provide relief to the Palestinian people in Gaza.

In a statement, the movement said the UN report is new evidence that the Zionist occupation is carrying out a starvation campaign against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, proven facts about the most heinous crimes that the occupation government and its terrorist army’s committing against civilians within the framework of the inclusive genocidal war on the Strip.

The statement added that the criminal starvation campaign against more than two million citizens, which has been ongoing for eleven months, especially in the Gaza and its north provinces, has begun with an official announcement by the terrorist occupation’s Minister, Yoav Gallant, to impose the strict siege on Gaza and to prevent water, food, medicine, fuel and electricity from reaching the civilians inside the Strip, in an unprecedented and heinous crime.

The movement’s statement said the report, in addition to several UN and human rights reports that issued during the past months, with the images convey of ongoing massacres and crimes, has placed the international community and the United Nations before the reality of this fascist entity that has deviated from the systems and laws.

It called for urgent intervention to provide relief to Gaza people, stop the violations and atrocities to which they are being subjected, and hold the Zionist war criminals accountable for these crimes.
