OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Sept. 17 (YPA) – Benjamin Netanyahu has threatened to dismiss his defense minister, Yoav Gallant, if he continues to oppose the expansion of military operations by Israeli forces in Lebanon, Hebrew media reported, citing sources close to Netanyahu.
This threat comes amid growing tension between Netanyahu and Gallant over Netanyahu’s insistence on escalating the conflict on the northern front, as reported by the Hebrew broadcasting authority.
Gallant opposes expanding the war and prefers to exhaust diplomatic options before considering Netanyahu’s scenario.
Additionally, a foreign diplomat familiar with the negotiations has stated that Netanyahu’s insistence on controlling the Philadelphi Route is the main reason for the failure of the exchange deal, according to Haaretz newspaper.
