Local official survives assassination in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Nov. 25 (YPA) – A local official in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, on Thursday survived an assassination attempt in an armed ambush set by gunmen of Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar, a military leader in Islah Party.

Local sources confirmed that the director of local council of Shibam Hadramout, His ham Ghalib bin Talib, loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional (STC), escaped an assassination at one of the military points of the military region in the city of Sayoun.

The districts of Hadramout valley have witnessed many assassinations, amid calls for the removal of Islah militants from the province.
