ADEN, Sept. 30 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) accused Sabafon telecommunications company of spying for the Islah Party in the southern provinces.
According to informed sources in the city of Aden, the STC asked the company, which belongs the leader in al-Islah party, Hamid al-Ahmar, to pay the taxes of more than $300 million.
The sources confirmed that the STC demanded in a meeting on Monday, the company to provide guarantees and detailed data about its activities, away from spying for the Islah in the south, especially after the announcement of the transfer of its administration last week to Aden.
Pro-Transitional activists launched violent attacks on Sabafon, demanding that it not spying on the participants and the STC’s leaders.
They demanded that the company’s stations not be used for military communications for the benefit of al-Islah militants in the southern provinces.
