Taiz: Ambush targets 35th Brigade leader, artillery shelling hit house of one of Islah leader

TAIZ, July 25 (YPA) – The southwestern countryside of Taiz province has witnessed a new fighting between The Islah militants backed by Turkey and pro-Emirati factions.

This comes on the basis of a political mobilization of both sides in order to resolve the file of the al-Hujarya, which overlooks the west coast of Yemen.

Local sources said that two soldiers from the 4th Brigade – one of the wings of al-Islah party – were killed during clashes.

The clashes broke out following an ambush targets a commander of the 35th Armored Brigade, which is affiliated with the United Arab Emirates in the al-Turbah district.

The sources pointed out that the ambush took place near the market of al-Zanqal and targeted the commander of the site of Mount Bayhan overlooking the al-Turbah district, Marwan al-Bareh.

Two of the commander’s companions were injured in the clashes, one of the sources added.

The ambush was the second in less than a week as a pre-ground ambush triggered widespread clashes in the same district.

In contrast, the al-Isaleh’s factions launched heavy artillery shelling on the house of 4th Brigade and Al-Islah party leader Abdo Numan al-Zariqi in the city of al-Turbah.

The sources said violent clashes broke out between the two sides, which spread to Khalifa Hospital and Thanhan area.
