MARIB, July 25 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia has pushed southern military battalions into Marib for fear of collapse of the fronts as the Yemeni army backed by popular committee advance, military sources said on Saturday.
According to the sources, Saudi Arabia has moved military battalions from its southern border with Yemen to Marib.
The battalions that have been transferred are recruits from the southern provinces, Yemen News Portal reported.
The Saudi officers asked them to prepare for a military operation, but did not tell them they would be transferred there, the website added, indicating that many of the members of the brigades refused after arriving in Marib, demanding the return of troops who left Marib to fight in the south.
