Israelis protest against Netanyahu’s corruption

SANAA, July 15 (YPA) – On Tuesday, the Israeli occupation entity witnessed mass demonstrations against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over corruption files filed against him.

In front of Netanyahu’s house, demonstrators raised black flags and demanded his departure, because of the indictments against him and what they see as his failure to deal with the Corona crisis.

On Tuesday evening, 1,718 new cases of the new Coronavirus were reported, the highest daily infection rate since the pandemic began at the end of February.

Some demonstrators tried to remove police roadblocks at the scene, and violent confrontations broke out between them and the police.

White demonstrators threw eggs at the police and special forces were called in to disperse them in front of the Israeli prime minister’s residence, according to the Israel Broadcasting Corporation.

The demonstrators carried banners reading “Netanyahu’s corruption costs us health,” “Stop collapsing – resign,” “Government of destruction” and other phrases.

Hundreds of demonstrators marched towards the center of Jerusalem, blocked an electric train line and threw bottles at members of the security forces, police said.

Israeli police arrested eight protesters, who said they had participated in the closure of the light rail line near the protest area.

This is the second time that demonstrations against Netanyahu have been held in three days, with some 10,000 Israeli settlers organizing inside Rabin Square in central Tel Aviv because of their government’s corruption in the new Coronavirus file.
