DAMASCUS, July 15 (YPA) – The bodies of two Alawite brothers (Zaher Ahmad Al-Naem and his brother, attorney Yousef Al-Naem), were found murdered in a horrific manner, three days after their abduction in the Syrian capital, Damascus, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Monday.
According to the source, the victims’ family received a call from a hospital in Damascus this morning, informing them that they needed to come to receive the bodies. A preliminary examination revealed that the two had been executed by beheading under unclear circumstances.
The two brothers were kidnapped outside their home in the Al-Abbasiyin neighborhood of Damascus after returning from work and parking their cars.
According to eyewitnesses, an armed group linked to Al-Julani’s militia pulled them from their vehicles and took them away, leaving the cars open. The incident happened earlier on July 11.
The brothers are originally from the town of Deir Mama, near Masyaf.
The incident is considered one of the most heinous crimes recently recorded in Damascus, comes amid escalating sectarian rifts and a breakdown in security.
