Military patrol targeted in Abyan

ABYAN, May 4 (YPA) – A number of Al-Islah party militants were killed and wounded Sunday in an armed ambush set up by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias in Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources said

The sources confirmed that the STC militias set up an armed ambush targeting a military patrol of al-Islah militants, on the international road in a narrow area of Al-Muhafid district.

According to the sources, the ambush killed one member of the patrol and wounded three others.

Over the past period, the STC militias in Al-Muhafd have carried out several armed ambushes, targeting military reinforcements from Shabwah to the coastal city of Shaqra.
