Army spokesman: Saudi-led mercenaries attack in Sirawh front defeated
SANAA, April 14 (YPA) – The Yemeni army spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e on Tuesday said that the Yemeni army and the Popular Committees have repelled a large-scale attack carried out by Saudi-led coalition forces in Marib province.
“Our forces were able to counter a large-scale infiltration attempt towards our forces’ sites in Sirwah district of Marib province,” Sare’e said in a statement.
The spokesman confirmed that the enemy forces suffered heavy losses and dozens of dead and wounded, without achieving any progress on the ground.
He pointed out that the coalition aircraft launched 20 airstrikes on separate areas in Jawf and Marib.
The attacks against Yemeni army forces have taken place despite earlier promises by Saudi-led coalition to implement a unilateral ceasefire and stop all military action.
