UN Secretary-General responds to Al-Houthi’s call, makes a global call

SANAA, March 24 (YPA) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres responded to the call of Supreme Council member Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, to the United Nations and the United Nations Security Council, “stopping wars in the world so that people enjoy peace – including the Yemeni people – and can fight the dangerous epidemic of Corona that is spreading around the world.”

Guterres, on Monday evening, during a video conference, launched a global call for a ceasefire all over the world, and a focus on the real battle in our lives, “in reference to the emerging epidemic of Corona virus (Covid-19), stressing that “the virus does not care for any ethnic origin, nationality, faction or religion.”
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in his appeal, urged “all warring parties around the world to lay down their arms to support the larger battle against the emerging COVID-19 virus.”

He described the epidemic of the new Corona epidemic as “the common enemy that now threatens all of humanity.”

Guterres said in his brief speech from the United Nations headquarters in New York: “The anger of the virus illustrates the folly of war, and for this reason I am calling today for an immediate global ceasefire throughout the world, adding, it is time to put armed conflict in a closed place and focus together on the real fighting in our lives. ”
He added: “Those who pay the highest prices for these conflicts are the most vulnerable, women and children, persons with disabilities, the marginalized and the homeless, they also face the risk of damaging losses due to the emerging corona virus.
In his global appeal, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, stressed that the demand to stop wars around the world is “extremely important to help establish corridors of life-saving assistance.
Guterres continued in his appeal to all countries of the world, stressing that humanity is threatened with annihilation, and the need to end what he called “the disease of war and the fight against the disease that is destroying our world.”

He said: This end to this devastating disease “begins with stopping the fighting everywhere. right Now. This is what our human family needs, now more than ever. ”
The call of the United Nations Secretary-General came hours after the Supreme Political Council member Muhammad Ali al-Houthi issued an invitation to the Security Council and the United Nations Secretary-General to call for stopping wars in the world for peace in peoples – including the Yemeni people – and able to combat the serious epidemic of Corona that is spreading around the world.
Muhammad al-Houthi said in his tweet on the Twitter on Monday noon: “The Corona epidemic is sweeping the world threatening humanity. We call on the Security Council and the United Nations Secretary-General to stop the aggressor forces from aggression against the Yemeni people and lift the blockade of it, adding, the epidemic is spreading all over the world, and it must be blessed The people of the world in peace and are able to combat the dangerous epidemic.
It is noteworthy that the invitation of the political council member, Muhammad Al Houthi, coincides with the fifth anniversary of the declaration of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates with direct American and British support and the participation of 13 other countries to form a military alliance to launch a war on Yemen and start its attacks at midnight March 26, 2015, with the imposition of a naval and land blockade on Yemen and an air embargo On airports.
