UNICEF stresses on commitment to peace to protect Yemeni children

SANAA, Feb. 20 (YPA) – UNICEF Yemen Representative, Sara Beysolow Nyanti on Thursday stressed on the importance of the ongoing commitment to peace protect the Yemeni children from the war in Yemen.

Nyanti said in a statement that the daily suffering of children in Yemen must not go unnoticed.

“We are sorrowful because of the Saudi-led coalition’s recent attack that happened in Jawf province, killing 19 children and injuring 18 others,” Nyanti added.

“We were hopeful that peace would be achieved in Yemen,” Nyanti said. “But the worrying military escalation was worried over the past weeks.”
