Dozens injured as 200 vehicles collide in Canada’s Montreal city

MONTREAL, Feb. 20 (YPA) – The Canadian city of Montreal on Thursday witnessed a terrible traffic accident that resulted in the injuring of dozens people, after more than 200 vehicles collided on a street in the suburbs of the city.

According to news reports, nearly 70 people were injured in the accident, some of them in serious condition.

Media are awaiting an official police statement about the injuries, and whether the accident resulted in deaths later.

“The accident was horrific, but fortunately there were no fires,” a police officer said.

And a number of photos posted by activists of social networking sites showed cars stacked on top of each other, while some of them were destroyed in a way that made it very difficult to identify them.
