Hodeidah Acting Governor meets with Humanitarian Coordinator

HODEIDAH, Nov. 6 (YPA) – Acting of Hodeidah Governor, Mohammed Qahim on Tuesday met with Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, Lise Grande.

During the meeting, they discussed the efforts of the coordinator in the framework of the UN humanitarian plan to face the disastrous humanitarian situation in the province.

He welcomed the visit of the Humanitarian Coordinator of Hodeidah within the framework of the visits to get acquainted with the humanitarian situation, and the progress of relief work especially Hodeidah governorate as the province under goes of difficult humanitarian conditions that require a concerted effort to overcome them.

At the meeting, Qahim reviewed the humanitarian situation in the province due to the continuation of the aggression.

Mohammed Qahim further reviewed the causes deteriorating economic and humanitarian situation, and the disastrous effects on the citizens in light of the continuing and intransigent of the coalition forces in preventing the arrival of humanitarian aid and oil derivatives ships to the ports of Hodeidah..

He praised the efforts of the humanitarian coordinator to promote humanitarian work, stressing the readiness of the local authority in the province to overcome the difficulties facing humanitarian activity to alleviate the suffering of citizens.

For her part, Grande said that she is determined to intensify its efforts to improve the humanitarian situation in the province through the United Nations teams to ensure the arrival of emergency assistance that Hodeidah needs.

The Humanitarian Coordinator expressed her readiness to harness all possibilities, especially in the field of relief and urgently during the coming period to alleviate the suffering of Yemeni citizens.
