Manipulation of oil deprives Marib province of electricity

MARIB, April 3 (YPA) – Activists on social media sites in Marib province on Wednesday complained about the continuous power cuts for long hours.

Director of electricity in the province “al-Shabwani” justified that was due to the lack of sufficient fuel to run power plants in the province because of what he called a technical defect in the refinery station of Safer Company for Oil Production.

Activists in Marib cited information contrary to al-Shabwani’s remarks, the most important of which is that sources at Safer company denied any problem in production, confirming that the usual quantity was produced.

The activists called on the Yemeni Petroleum Company’s branch in Marib to publish the diesel loading list for the last three days so that citizens can know where these quantities go.

They concluded that the problem lies in the officials’ manipulation in the oil amounts allocated to the electricity sector by transforming them to other sectors through which they get more gains, not indifferent to the suffering of citizens due to power cuts, especially with the entry of summer.
