The account added that investigators gave her two options: either to get life imprisonment or be executed, after accusing her of spying for Qatar.
Saudi activists expressed strong indignation at the torture of the Nafjan, saying that the Saudi authorities “did not learn from the lesson of Khashoggi and Lugain Hathloul “.
Saudi activists said that the state tried to cover up the torture of Iman Nafjan, which is the most interactive hashtag on Saudi social media at the moment, by creating fake news about the so-called “torture of Iman al-Nafjan”, a fictional name they had made up. Saudi Arabia then tried to pretend that footage of Nafjan’s torture took place in a Qatari jail and featured the abuse of al-Nafjan.
Activists explained that the revelation of the torture of the Nafjan was their response to a statement by the Saudi public prosecutor, who had denied that there had been any ill-treatment of detainees in Saudi prison.
