SANAA, Feb. 27 (YPA) – The Pakistani army on Wednesday morning shot down two Indian warplanes, “over Pakistan’s territory,” after its fighter jets had been fighting to violate its sovereignty.
The Pakistani army spokesman reported that one of the pilots had landed inside Pakistani territory and he was captured.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry issued a statement, following the shooting down of Indian fighter jets, in which it stated: “We have no intention of escalating, but we are fully prepared to do so if necessary.”
According to Reuters, two pilots and a civilian were killed after an Indian fighter crashed over the disputed Indian part of Kashmir.
According to Agence France-Presse, the Pakistani police said that six civilians were killed in an Indian artillery bombardment on Pakistani Kashmir on Tuesday.
This comes despite the fact that India has announced a new stance on the escalating crisis with its neighbor Pakistan, on Wednesday, to reverse the escalation with Islamabad, following New Delhi raids in Pakistani territory that sparked unprecedented tension between the two countries.
