President Nicolas Maduro calls on Parliament speaker to elections

SANAA, Feb. 20 (YPA) – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro called on Venezuelan Parliament speaker Juan Guaido  to announce elections in the country.

“Why Guaido does not call for elections, to get rid of him through popular vote?” said Maduro said during graduates of a medical university, broadcast on Twitter.

He added: “Let the clown who set himself up as president to hold elections, to get rid of him through the vote.”

The political crisis in Venezuela has been exacerbated by the announcement by the Venezuelan parliament speaker, the opposition leader, Juan Guaido , himself as president of the country for a transitional period and holding new presidential elections.
