SANAA, Jan. 21 (YPA) – Thirteen Afghan security personnel were killed on Monday in a Taliban attack on a military base in the southern province of Wardak.
Government officials said more than 28 security officials were wounded in the attack on the military base when militants detonated a car and two gunmen entered the compound.
According to the Afghan network Tullo News, the attack occurred in the morning hours after a car bomb exploded near the base of the Afghan Special Forces, a spokesman for the governor of the province Rahman Mangal said.
Mangal said at least three attackers were killed in the attack, while another bomber blew up a car loaded with explosives near the base, adding that the security forces suffered losses from the operation.
The Taliban network added that the Taliban organization claimed responsibility for the explosion.
