SANAA, Jan. 20 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation authorities have decided on Saturday night to close the schools of the Agency for the relief and Works of Palestine refugees (UNRWA) in occupied Jerusalem, starting in the next academic year.
According to the Hebrew Channel 7, the closure came after weeks of a secret meeting of the Israeli National Security Council in the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, to approve a plan to close and expel UNRWA-run institutions from occupied Jerusalem.
The plan approved by the Israeli Security Council has already been approved by the Jerusalem municipality.
The agency runs the Shu’fat camp in the northern occupied city of Jerusalem, the only camp in the town, but has dozens of medical clinics, educational institutions and dozens of schools in the city itself.
