SANAA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – The Sudanese opposition leader, Sadiq al-Mahdi, returned to his country on Wednesday after spending a year in exile, AFP photographer reported from the scene.
Mahdi arrived in Omdurman on the West Bank of the Nile River, where he was greeted by a crowd of supporters, before heading to the main mosque in the city.
The reasons behind the return of the former prime minister, who spent his time in several countries in exile, including Egypt and Britain, were not clear yet.
