Saudi Crown Prince leaves Tunisia to Argentina to attend G20 summit

SANAA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman has left Tunisia heading to Argentina to attend the G20 summit, al-Arabiya website reported on Wednesday morning.

The Argentine judicial authorities have begun to consider a memorandum on the role of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in war crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen and acts of torture carried out by Saudi officials, Human Rights Watch(HRW) said Tuesday.

“The Argentine prosecuting authorities should examine the role of Mohammed Bin Salman in possible war crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen since 2015,” HRW’s executive director Kenneth Roth said in a statement.

The presence of the Crown prince at the G-20 summit in Buenos Aires may make Argentine courts as a means to redress the victims of violations who are unable to seek justice in Yemen or Saudi Arabia, “he added.

“The decision of Argentine officials to launch a strong signal will be that no one is beyond the reach of the law, even senior officials such as Mohammed bin Salman,” he said.

The Crown prince must be aware that he may face a criminal investigation if he visits Argentina.”
