SANAA, Nov. 18 (YPA) – The death toll from forest fires raging in the US state of California has risen to 76 people, the Police chief in the state of California Sheriff Kory Honea said on Sunday.
“Since last night, the remains of five other people have been recovered, bringing the death toll to a total of 76,” Honea told reporters.
“The number of missing people has risen to 1276, up 275 people,” he added.
Rescue teams recovered the remains of at least 71 people in the County Homes in the town of Paradise which is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the state of California.
It has a population density of 27,000 people, and it is 280 kilometres north of San Francisco before it was wiped out by the Camp Fire on November 8, 2018.
